Medicare Part D
Medicare Part D is prescription drug coverage offered through private insurance companies approved by Medicare. You can get it as a standalone drug plan added to Original Medicare, or built into many Medicare Advantage plans. Each plan has its own list of covered drugs (formulary) and its own costs, so coverage varies by plan and by where you live.
This is general education, not personalized advice, and plan details change every year. For all of your options, contact Medicare.gov, 1-800-MEDICARE, or your local State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) at shiphelp.org.
