Coinsurance

Coinsurance is the share of a covered cost you pay as a percentage, rather than a fixed dollar amount. For example, you might pay a percentage of a service while your plan pays the rest. The percentage depends on your plan and the service.

This is general education, not personalized advice, and plan details change every year. For all of your options, contact Medicare.gov, 1-800-MEDICARE, or your local State Health Insurance Assistance Program (SHIP) at shiphelp.org.
