D-SNP and Extra Help (LIS) explained
Dual Special Needs Plans (D-SNPs) are a type of Medicare Advantage plan for people who qualify for both Medicare and Medicaid. They coordinate benefits and often include extra support.
Extra Help, also called the Low-Income Subsidy (LIS), helps pay Part D premiums, deductibles, and copays for people with limited income and resources.
If you think you might qualify for Medicaid or Extra Help, an agent who specializes in dual-eligible plans can help you understand your options.
