Medicare Advantage vs. Medicare Supplement
Medicare Advantage (Part C) plans are offered by private companies and often use provider networks. They may include extra benefits and usually bundle drug coverage, with costs as you use care.
Medicare Supplement (Medigap) policies work alongside Original Medicare to help pay out-of-pocket costs like coinsurance and deductibles, and let you see any provider that accepts Medicare. You typically add a separate Part D plan.
Neither approach is universally better — the right choice depends on your doctors, prescriptions, budget, and preferences. Compare the specific plans an agent represents before deciding.
